Sentiment to George in his Christmas card
Hay George (scratch that) Hay Pops, it’s your son Joe.
Thank you! Not for what you’ve given me. You know I’m beyond grateful.
Thank you for all your quite relentless support of my children, my nieces and nephew and all the grandkids.
You and mom showing up at all those soccer games, track meets, dance recitals, choir, music, basketball,
cross country races, and graduation after graduation after graduation, after graduation..............
I never heard you say a bad word about the weather, the crowds or most important their performance.
Some of those elementary school bands. OMG.
I did it a half a dozen times but you and mom most have done it 50 maybe 100 times.
Those hearings aids most have never worked (smilie face).
Thanks you so much for your steadfast support, guidance, and encouragement.
You will never know the impact you have had. Thanks
Forever your son, Joe.
Ps. Please get better, I have a table you can help me refinish.

I'm among the fortunate who could call George "friend." Like him, I'm a lifelong member of St. Monica Church (but he's got about 40 years on me). We spent many, many wonderful times together. Mondays were special as I was at home with Eleanor and George for dinner before Eleanor and I went on to choir practice. We imbibed in many "Happy Hours" on those days. Lots of conversation, laughter, and good food. I also had the joy and privilege of going to "the cabin" with them. I would spend hours, before Happy Hour, with my camera trained on the birdfeeders trying to get that perfect shot. When the choir came for picnics, there'd be hikes, bocce, bean hole, and great food and drink. Memories that will last a lifetime and treasures to hold in my heart. Cheers George. I still can't drink a Manhattan... Love and miss you.

George, thanks for so many wonderful memories. The Saturday nights in your rec room on Kron St sharing some booze and watching "Have Gun, Will Travel" and "Gunsmoke". Then off to Eddie Folts on Genesee St. where we always had such a good time with fellow St. Monicans. Closing up Eddie's, we then went down the street for a delicious hamburger at Nothnagles.
Thanks for the fishing trips up on the Ausable River where we would eat elk steaks at the Sportsman Inn and play poker. Also the trips up in Canada at Loon Lake.
I remember the many breakfasts and dances we had as Monicans. Also, teaching the kids at Industry followed by a stop at Hokie's on Scotsville Rd. Rest in peace dear buddy.

George always sat in the front right section of St. Monica's Church. I know I will always think of him when I look in that direction. He was a true, faithful member of the parish. He and Eleanor were there at every gathering. My prayers and sympathy to all the family.

We will miss you Uncle George. You are finally reunited with Aunt Eleanor and the rest of the family who have passed before. There surely is a wonderful reunion party going on in heaven with quite a few Manhattans being enjoyed. Rest in peace and love.
