Rochester: May 19, 1926 – March 3, 2021.
A life full of adventure, challenges, music and laughter. A Purple Heart recipient, he served his country for over 16 years. He was a prisoner of war in Korea, where he escaped. A devoted husband, father, loving grandfather and silly “Papa-Poopa” to his greatgrandchildren. His love of life and music was contagious. We knew his time on earth was coming to an end, but it doesn’t make his passing any easier. He is at peace, resting easy, reunited with mom, the love of his life and probably looking for a drum kit to play.
Predeceased by his wife of 52 years, Edna Powers McKnight. Survived by his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the staff of The Friendly Home, for their wonderful care and support.
Services will be held at the family’s convenience.
