Gordon J. Bennett

Formerly of Gates: Passed away after a short illness on July 12, 2016 at age 80.

Predeceased by his beloved wife, Joyce Bennett as well as his brother, Robert Bennett & sister, Betty Hall.

Survived by his sons: Gordon (Carol) Bennett, Jr., & Brian (Grace) Bennett; Grandchildren: Corinne, Erin, Jillian (Brian) Cosgrove and Kyle; Siblings: Olive Domres, William Bennett & Barbara (Donald) Douglas as well as many nieces & nephews.

Gordie was born and raised in Buffalo, NY but he lived and worked in places like New York City, Charlotte, NC and Hudson, FL. He was a Tank Commander and Staff Sergeant for the Army National Guard, a worldwide manager of Technical Training for and a Retiree of Taylor Instruments. Gordie was a member of Aripeka Elks Lodge 2520 and active in the American Legion in Florida. He traveled extensively around the world and was an avid boater who loved spending time on his cruiser, “Rock ‘n’ Roll”

Friends & family may call on Fri. July 15th, from 4-6pm at the Pearce Memorial Church 4322 Buffalo Rd, North Chili, where a memorial service will be held following at 6:30pm. Arrangements have been entrusted to Alvah Halloran & Son Funeral Home.
