

Jack is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Mary Ann. He was predeceased by a son Matthew (1971) and daughter Martha (2020). He is survived by Joseph (Karen), Mary, Ellen, Amy, Sara and Martha’s partner Barbara Johnston. Also survived by 6 grandchildren Ian and Amanda Kelch; Fred and Theo Peters; and Abigail and Corrina Menz. He also leaves many nieces and nephews.
Jack was a member of the US Armed Services, serving 3 years in the Army. Jack was a lover of theatre, movies, show tunes and sports.
Jack was a devout Catholic, he, his wife and family being members of St. Pius X Church in Chili since 1968. He worked at the church Bingo nights, sang in the choir and volunteered with other church members at the Rochester Psychiatric Center.
The family cannot say enough about the staff of 3-South at St. John’s Home, where Jack resided from May 2019 until his passing. He was lovingly cared for day and night by the dedicated nursing staff. Watching the care, attention and obvious relationships the staff had with Jack provided his family with peace. We would also like to thank the Spiritual Life team of St. John’s for providing constant support and spiritual succor to Jack during his time at St. John’s. The staff of the Rochester Regional Health Hospice team provided invaluable support to Jack and his family, for which they will be eternally grateful.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made in his memory to St. John’s Home Foundation, 150 Highland Avenue, Rochester, NY, 14620.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Pius X Church, 3010 Chili Ave. Chili, NY, at 10:00AM on Friday, June 13, 2025. Burial at St. Pius X Cemetery will follow immediately. Arrangements entrusted to the Alvah Halloran & Son Funeral Home.
