Originally from Glens Falls, NY, Jeanne moved to Rochester in the late 1950’s, where she worked for many years at Kodak. After taking time to raise her daughter, she worked at Bausch & Lomb until her retirement.
She shared a love of birdwatching with her daughter, taking many birding trips around the US and Canada. Later, that love of birds translated into decades of volunteering at the Braddock Bay Bird Observatory Banding Station. She was a lifelong member of the Rochester Birding Association, where she held many positions, most recently that of historian. Jeanne also spent many years as the secretary of the New York State Avian Records committee and was active in the New York State Ornithological Association.
Jeanne was predeceased by parents, James and Agnes, sisters, Janet and Judy, and husband, Earl.
She is survived by her daughter, Sharon, and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends may call on Monday, November 9, 2026, from 4-7PM at the Alvah Halloran & Son Funeral Home, 2125 Chili Ave. Rochester, NY 14624. Jeanne will be laid to rest with her husband in Chili Rural Cemetery.
