Born on February 15, 1940, in Rochester, New York, Joyce was a bright light who brought warmth, kindness, and a wonderful sense of humor to everyone who knew her. Though she had no children of her own, Joyce poured her boundless love into her many nieces and nephews, treating them as her own.
Joyce cherished time spent with her family. She loved going for long car rides with her sister, Carol, and her niece, Jennifer, and she was always the life of the party during card games with her nephew, Jamie, and his wife, Kelly. Her legendary skills at the game earned her the affectionate family title of “the card shark.”
Giving back to her community was deeply important to Joyce. Before her illness, she dedicated countless hours of volunteer work to Holy Childhood and Artists Unlimited, always eager to help others.
She is survived by her loving sisters, Carol Sands and Linda Marshall, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, George J. and Arline D. Flesch, her brother, George A. Flesch, and many other relatives.
A Graveside Committal Service will be held at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, All Saints Mausoleum, 2461 Lake Ave., Rochester, NY 14612, on September 18, 2026, at 11:30 am.
