Kathleen Ann Oliver

Kathleen A. Oliver (Kelly), of Concord, North Carolina, passed away on April 14, 2018, surrounded by her loving family, due to complications from a bilateral lung transplant. Kathy was born in Rochester, New York on July 1, 1947, where she attended St. Monica's grammar school and St. Agnes high school. Kathy fell in love and married Paul G. Oliver on May 13, 1967 by the reverend Father Bob Collins at St. Monica's Roman Catholic Church. Kathy and Paul raised three wonderful children in their home on Rossiter Road. She was proud to belong to the Spiritus Christi parish. Kathy had a full career at the University of Rochester where she retired after 25 years. After retirement, Kathy moved to the sunny south, where she enjoyed gardening, entertaining family & friends, and her dog, Reese - whom she treated like a princess. Kathy was a selfless and kind soul, who always placed the needs of others before her own. She was a caring mother, an adventurous grandmother, and a warm and generous friend. Kathy is survived by her children, Kevin (Dee) Oliver, Linda (Patrick) Huefner, and Andrea (Christian) Mercurio; five grandchildren, Farrah, Brennen, Carmella, Stone, and Madison; brother Bill (Barbara) Kelly; nephews Bill (Jeannine) Kelly, Dan (Jennifer) Kelly, Mike (Erin) Oliver, Tim (Barbara) Oliver; nieces Sue (Bruce) Usiatynski, Mary Kay (Scott) Rutty; sister-in-law Carol (Peter) Oliver; and dear friends Judy Curtin, Sue (David) Jones, and Rita Tryon. Predeceased by her husband, Paul Oliver, and her parents, Jeannette and Bill Kelly, Sr., siblings, John Kelly and Margaret Stauffer; brother-in-law, Peter Oliver; and niece, Vivian Perio. Kathy will be missed by everyone whose lives she touched. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, April 23, 2018 at Spiritus Christi Catholic Church, 121 N Fitzhugh Street, Rochester, NY at 11:00 AM. Graveside service will follow at Holy Ghost Cemetery.
