Predeceased by his wife Kathleen, son Nelson LeBarron Jr., grandson Nelson LeBarron III, Sisters Florence Malone, “Sally” Ward, and Anna Schey.
Nelson was born in Lyons, NY. His family moved to Rochester, and by the eighth grade Nelson had started his life-long construction career, pulling nails from boards for a local contractor. He went on to become a very accomplished and well-known heavy equipment operator. Nelson worked with many contractors over the years. Most notably, he was co-owner of Elmgrove Developers in Rochester, and later, owner of LeBarron Trucking in Fort Myers, Florida. Over the course of the past 40 years, Nelson and his beloved wife, Kathy, were residents of both Rochester and Fort Myers.
Nelson enjoyed casinos, traveling, good food and a good Rob Roy – “straight up with a twist”. With infinite knowledge, he could talk for hours about old Western Movies and their movie stars, as well as famous and infamous American cowboys and outlaws. I am sure if he had been born in a different time under different circumstances that he would’ve been a cowboy! He was known for wearing Western style shirts, a black vest, and a black cowboy hat. He had a beautiful singing voice. He loved his old-time country music and he regularly sang at local karaoke nights. Nelson loved spending time with his family, which he was quite proud of.
The world will certainly be a little less colorful without his unique personality and presence.
And as Nelson would often sing at karaoke:
"So tell that someone that you love
Just what you're thinking of
If tomorrow never comes"
Nelson is survived by his daughter-in-law Carol LeBarron, granddaughter Alexandra and husband Brandon O’Buck, great-grandson Westley O’Buck, bonus grandson Daniel Purpura, Step-Daughter Magdalena Petit, step-granddaughter Constance and husband David Whyte, and their sons, Jaxson, Logan, Holden, and Ashton, several nieces and nephews, and best friend Dan Cassiani.
As per his wishes, there will be no public services held.
