Rick, I met you, Sandy and your family on what was probably one of the worst days of your life. And I personally gave you the worst news of your life. But for as many patients as I have delivered similar news to, I will always remember my strong Irish family that I fought so hard for because every one of you touched me with your courage, your strength in the face of devastation, your resilience when I saw you just a short time later with your brother. I saw thousands of patients in the ED in my years there, but will never forget the night you came to see me. I hope you had the time you needed to say everything you needed to say, I know you will be missed.

Dear Theresa, Bernie and Family,
I'm very saddened to hear of Rick's passing. I can still picture him at the Gulf gas station, the Kalamazoo, and listening to records with you in his attic room on Sawyer Street. He was a good person and will always be remembered forever young in my mind.
On behalf of myself and family, our prayers are with you. May God Bless you and keep you all.

My brother Rick. He lit our lives with joy. He was the reckless one who amazingly survived his numerous antics. He was a fearless warrior, always willing to put himself on the frontline to protect those he loved. He reached out to help without hesitation. He was the force that carried us thorough troubled waters and did not let go until we were safely on solid ground. He made it happen when we thought things were not possible. He filled our lives with laughter and love, and left us with an indescribable emptiness. It is an honor to have had him as my brother and one of my greatest blessings to have known him as a friend. Rick, without question, gave his all. Love, Bernadette

Sandy and Family,
So sorry to hear of the loss of Rick. I never met Him but I am sure he was a good man, husband and father. I only knew Sandy and the kids. Love and prayers for all of you.
