She was predeceased by her parents Thomas and Margaret Burcke, her sisters Janet Breslin and Susan Burcke and brother-in-law Vithya Ajavananda.
Sandy is survived by her husband John of 56 years, and her son John (Diane) Choromanskis, daughters Christine Choromanskis Regelsberger, Amy (Andrew) Wooding, her adoring grandchildren: Kyle, Connor, Keegan Wooding & Tyler and Emily Regelsberger, twin sisters JoAnn (Edward) Blodgett and Carol Ajavananda, sisters and brothers-in-law Amy (Gary) Holquist, Frank (Sigrid) Choromanskis, Liz (Dan) Cooper, Tom Breslin, many cousins, nieces, nephews and close friends.
Sandy graduated from Madison High School in 1964 and worked for over 38 years at Sears. Sandy's greatest love was spending time with family, attending their sporting events, shopping, gardening and cooking. Her love of swimming was passed on to her children and grandchildren. In 2019, she was awarded the Outstanding Spectator Award by the Churchville Chili CSD.
Special gratitude goes to the caring staff at Wilmot Cancer Center for their love and care over the past 2 1/2 years.
A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, March 27th at 10 o'clock at St. Monica's Church, 831 Genesee St.(at the corner of Monica St.), Rochester, NY 14619. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchure Cemetery.
Donations can be made in Sandy's memory to Golisano Children's Hospital.
