Sharon C. Rose

Sharon was born on April 13, 1940, in Rochester, New York, the daughter of the late, James and Frances Cooley. She was a proud graduate of Mercy High School, graduating Class of 1958. After graduating from high school, she would pursue a special passion for nursing at Mercy College. She would go on to become a registered nurse and would dedicate the majority of her career to labor and delivery, retiring in 2016, at the age of 76. Throughout her career, she cultivated meaningful relationships and earned great respect in the nursing community.

Her love extended beyond her family to her hobbies; she enjoyed knitting and crocheting, creating countless baby sweaters and blankets for grandchildren, friends and family. Known for her sweet tooth, she loved chocolate ice cream and banana splits. The family trips to Schaller’s and Abbott’s were cherished memories, and she always had a small bag of M&M’s ready for the kids on road trips.

A passionate sports fan, she loved watching all sports but held a special place in her heart for the Buffalo Bills and Syracuse University basketball.

Her legacy of love, dedication and community will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Besides her parents, Sharon was also preceded in death by her son, Chad. She is survived by her loving children, Colleen (Marc) Guyett, Todd (Sue) Rose, Robin (Ron) Winter, and Kelly Rose; her beloved grandchildren: Austin & Kendal, Kayleigh & Aidan, Peyton & Sydney; grand-dogs, Clint & Denver; sisters, Frances Wohlrab and Lorraine Cooley-Arcesi, as well as many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Relatives and friends may share condolences with the family during calling hours from 5:00-8:00PM, on Friday, July 24, 2026, at the Alvah Halloran & Son Funeral Home, 2125 Chili Ave. Rochester, NY 14624. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00AM, on Saturday, July 25th, at Hope Church, 1301 Vintage Ln. Rochester, NY 14626. Sharon will be laid to rest at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
