In 1942, in the Accounting Department, Vera became a conscientious clerk in the Singer Corporation. As a result of her excellent performance in keeping detailed and accurate business records, Vera was promoted to the Supervisor position of General Accounting in 1955. Having served the company responsibly, she retired officially after 36 years from her first date of employment (1942-1978).
After a brief retirement, Vera worked in the Roberts Wesleyan College business office, from June 1980 to May 1985, preparing yearly audit reports. This was followed by several years of a variety of on-call volunteer office projects. She was honored as a distinguished “Volunteer of the Year” in 1999.
As a member of the Pearce Memorial Church and regular attendee, she found joy in caring for the infants in the nursery. She also capably served as treasurer of the Senior Adult organization for several years.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, August 12, 2021 at 2:30PM, in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Rochester, NY.
