

William will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 58 years, Christine (Gallotti); daughter Denise and husband Pastor Jonathan Spite; son Michael Connolly (Lt Col, USAF, retired) and wife Karen; daughter Cherie and husband Pastor Kirk Spite; grandchildren Matthew, Amanda, Stephanie, Alex, Taylor, Trevor, Lauren, Kendrick, Austin, and Cameron; and 13 great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents Harry and Virginia Connolly, sister Sue Ann, brother James, and granddaughter McKayla Spite.
William is survived by sister Betty Cameron and family, sister Bonnie Brown and family, brother David Connolly, and sister Sandra Myers and family and a host of beloved nieces and nephews.
Born in Kunkle, Ohio May 17, 1939, on a small farm, William began a life of service to others in the United States Army as a Military Police officer with the 823rd Ordnance Division in Romulus, NY from 1958 – 1961. He settled in Rochester in 1961 after meeting and marrying his lovely wife and retired from Eastman Kodak in 1991 after 26 years as a multi-skilled mechanic and HVAC and electrical instrumentation controls specialist. William began a 20-year career as a Rush Henrietta bus driver in 1992 where he mentored and influenced 1,000’s of children and affectionately earned the nickname “Mr. Bill”. William is a Life Member with the Henrietta Volunteer Ambulance where he proudly served as a first responder and driver from 1968 – 1998. He was also actively engaged in Civil Air Patrol and Scouting.
A Celebration of William’s life will be held at 10:30 AM on February 26, 2022 at New Life Assembly Church, 64 Calkins Rd., Henrietta .
