He was born and lived most of his life in Rochester, New York. Bill struggled with a Traumatic Brain Injury for the last 45 years of his life, but he was a fighter and managed to survive on his own for much of this time. He ran a successful small engine repair business, spent many days on the Charlotte pier fishing with the locals and loved to make hush puppies for his friends and family. His homemade wine was always a treat. Bill loved his friends and family and was always good for a funny story. Although Bill is gone, he will be remembered by many and will live in our hearts forever.
Bill is survived by his brothers Peter, Steve and Dave and their wives Anne, Ellen, Becky, and Rachel; nieces and nephews Kaitlin, Tyler, Mike and Sam and their spouses Adam, Kristen, and Alex; grandnieces and grandnephews Charlotte, Caroline, Hawkins, James, Ford, Luke and Riley, and hundreds of cousins. Bill was preceded in death by his parents Dave and Diane. Special thanks to John and Jackie McNall and Tommy Maher for making Bill’s last few years better than they would have otherwise been.
We will celebrate Bill’s life at the Maher family reunion this summer, 2025.
