Albert L. “Al” Borsani, 86, of Aliquippa, passed away Saturday, April 6, 2013 while under the compassionate care of Gateway Hospice and Evergreen Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born July 19, 1926 in Beaver Falls. Albert proudly served his country with the U.S. Navy during WWII. He was a co-owner and operator of C&L Supermarket, Aliquippa from 1944 until 1993. Al was a Life Member of VFW Post 8805, Hopewell. He was a member of House of Prayer Lutheran Church, Aliquippa.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 34 years: Eleanor on February 14, 2013; his three brothers: Chuck, Lou and Bob; and his sister: Norma.
He is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law: Richard Hammond, Aliquippa; Jeff and Michelle Hammond, Aliquippa; two grandchildren: Clinton and Amelia Hammond; one great granddaughter: Kinsley Scott.
Friends will be received on Tuesday, April 9, 2013 from 10 a.m. until 12 noon at the House of Prayer Lutheran Church, 2100 Irwin Street, Aliquippa. Military Honors will be presented at 12 noon by members of the Beaver County Special Unit followed by his funeral service with Pastor Mike Sourwine, officiating. Private interment will be in the John F. Kennedy Memorial Garden at Sylvania Hills Memorial Park. Arrangements are by SAUL-GABAUER FUNERAL HOME, INC. 724-728-2456.
