Albert is survived by his loving daughter and son, Kelly and Larry, both of Florida; his loving siblings, brother William Majzlik of Florida, twin sisters Mary Ann (Tim) Pettibon of Center Twp., and Marlene Everett of Georgia; and his soulmate and partner in life, Sherry Snyder.
He was blessed with one niece: Ashley (Rob) Gillespie, three nephews: Brandon (Emma) Everett, Daniel (Rose) Everett, Shawn Majzlik, and three great-nieces: Maeve, Haven, and Madeleine.
Albert attended Center High School (class of 1973) where he was a member of the Whiteheather Pipes and Drums band of Ambridge Pa. where he played snare drum as the band honored the Scottish Heritage with bagpipe music, marching in countless parades around the county.
Albert then attended Logan College of Chiropractic (class of 1978). From 1978 to 2020, he worked to heal as many people as possible while owning and operating his chiropractic practice in Elwood City, PA. Chiropractic care wasn’t just Albert’s profession it was a calling woven into his being. As a Chiropractor, he strongly believed in the healing powers of the hand body over Western medicine and passed those beliefs down to his children…and anyone else who would listen.
An Eagle Scout, Albert was an avid outdoorsman and hunter. Many of his days were spent looking for that next big buck or ready to put a line in some new body of water for a big bass. His hunting travels brought him to places like Wyoming for mule deer and antelope or as far as Alaska for giant halibut. He would never forget to start the month to so many people with a good luck Rabbit Rabbit text!
He made numerous trips to Orlando, Florida to visit with his brother Bill over the past 30 years, relaxing on his boat or by the pool, usually joined by his son and daughter, while always allowing plenty of time for fishing and wild boar hunting. He also enjoyed opening up his deer 'hunting camp' (Doc’s Deer Camp) hosting his brother Bill and good friend Greg during the annual deer hunting season in PA.
Fun travels included multiple trips to Hawaii for NFL Pro Bowls, trips to St. Thomas, St. Croix and other islands with friends. For the past several years, Al and his partner Sherry had been annually enjoying the beautiful tropics in Jamaica, where they spent time with friends they’d met along the way and kept in close contact with over the years. Whether it was a beach on an island or a bonfire back in the frozen tundra, he always carried with him a never-ending desire to just relax into the moments and really enjoy life with those around him, always on his terms, ya mon!
His love of nature gave him quite the green thumb, growing many things over the years, including everything from vegetable gardens to giant sunflowers every year, succulents, mint bushes, even giant pumpkins, and much more.
Albert spent many hours in life honing his woodworking skills, which resulted in a plethora of beautiful, skillful, talented, truly heartfelt, thoughtful and useful gifts given to so many of his best friends, family, patients, local clubs he frequented and more.
Creativity with a sense of humor was a strong trait of Doctor Al’s. Throughout the years, he’s handcrafted a few new creatures Mother Nature could never think of. Even his more newly found interest in welding had yielded some very happy-faced rocket stoves and metal lawn gnomes that are truly one of a kind.
Doc was a social butterfly by nature, and he truly loved his friends. He was the kind of guy who couldn't sit still and was always just curious enough to wander around or start a conversation with a perfect stranger. Because he was always on the move, there weren’t many places you could go in Beaver County where he didn't run into a familiar face.
Shuffleboard, football polls and billiards just won't feel the same without him. He was a mentor by default, whether you asked for his advice or not. A creature of habit in some ways, with fish on Fridays, coffee on the balcony every morning and friends every other night of the week.
These few words barely begin to summarize or describe Albert’s life, his loves, his experiences, his philosophies, or the way he embraced living… just a little bit of what he enjoyed along the way. If you asked him, he’s probably just having a cheeseburger in paradise with his Dalmatians, Misty and Reggae, by his side.
May his smile, laughter, and love for his people live on in the heart of all of his closest friends and family.
“Where it all ends I can’t fathom, my friends. If I knew, I might toss out my anchor.” While Doc has finally dropped his anchor and found his peace, we take comfort in knowing exactly where to find him when it's our time to anchor alongside him.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM on Friday, July 10, 2026 at Saul-Gabauer Funeral Home, 273 Route 68, Rochester, PA 15074. Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Pics and condolences can be expressed online at www.saul-gabauer.com
