Alex M. Kouvolo Jr., age 81, of Freedom, passed away on Thursday, July 30, 2026 at Heritage Valley Sewickley. Born, April 4, 1945, in Bellaire, Ohio, he was the son of the late Alex M. and Anna Kouvolo Sr. Alex graduated from Point Park University with a degree in Civil Engineering. After retirement, he became a very beloved school bus driver known lovingly as "Mr. Alex." He worked as an EMT for both Valley Ambulance and Economy Ambulance. He was a quiet man, he loved to read, but he also participated in Community Theatre, and he loved to drive anywhere no matter how far. He will be remembered as a gentleman, a dedicated husband, loving father and brother.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Marilyn (Boley) Kouvolo, a son, Gregory Kouvolo and two brothers; William (Carol) and Robert 'Dan' Kouvolo.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Lisa Raye Priano, and a sister in law, Gloria Kouvolo.
Friends will be received on Saturday, August 8, 2026 from 1pm until the time of funeral services at 5pm at the Saul-Gabauer Funeral Home, 273 Route 68, Rochester, PA 15074.
