Alvin L Shipp Sr.

Alvin was a 1969 graduate of Hopewell High School. He joined the Holiness Church of Christ Deliverance Center at an early age. Alvin obtained certificates for Blueprinting, brick laying at Technician Training School, Electrical at Crucible Steel and Tool and Die at Aliquippa High School. He had worked at Blaw Knox Corporation, Wykoff Steel Mill, Crucible Steel Corporation, A&P grocery store for management training, and the Housing Authority of Beaver County. Alvin also designed and built a home in Industry, PA. from the ground up. He enjoyed playing chess and checkers; and watching his favorite football team the Pittsburgh Steelers.

He married Loretta Kershaw in September 1969 to which three sons where born; Alvin, Andrew and Khalil "Arnell" Shipp, he has three grandchildren; Brittany Shipp, Alexis Gills and LaRay Shipp, brother; Ronald "Joe" Shipp and his wife; Anna Shipp, sisters; Linda Hill and husband Mose Hill, Lorraine Shipp, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents Alvin was preceded in death by his brother; James Shipp.

A visitation for Alvin will be held Wednesday, April 10, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Saul-Gabauer Funeral Home & Sylvania Hills Memorial Park, 273 Rt 68, Rochester, PA 15074, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM.
