Ann E. Bruce, 87, of Raccoon Township, went home to be with her Lord, on Saturday, August 30, 2014, peacefully at her home. A woman of great faith, a prayer warrior quietly interceding for others, she has heard her Savior whisper, “You have fought the good fight, you have finished the course, you have kept the faith; enter in my good and faithful servant”.
Ann was born April 11, 1927 in Richmond, VA, daughter of the late Lewis and Lillian (Walsh) DeMasters. During her years of employment, Ann was a unit clerk at Rochester Hospital and then the Medical Center, retiring after 24 years of service.
She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her loving ways were anchored in a Christ-centered foundation for the nurturing of her family. She raised her children on Biblical principles that were lived out in the home as well as the church. Ann was a faithful and active member of Calvary Baptist Church, Monaca, where she played the organ. During her life, Ann taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and sang in several choirs. Ann made delicious home-cooked meals and baked the best apple pie. Her husband Jim was always sure to compliment her on its great taste.
In addition to her parents, Ann was preceded by her husband of 61 years: Jim in September of 2007; and two sisters: Ellen Stahl and Lillian Rose.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Betsy and Paul Kuglar, with whom she resided, Raccoon Township; son and daughter-in-law: James and Shirley Bruce, Hookstown; five grandchildren Laura and Ben Kachmar, Moon Township; Jim and Jessica Bruce, Hookstown; Bob Bruce, Aliquippa; Michal and Kim Bruce, Raccoon Township; Ryan Kuglar, Raccoon Township; five great grandchildren: Gwendolyn and Ava Kachmar; Kiersten, Gracie and Allie Bruce; her brother and sister-in-law: Lewis and Audrey DeMasters, Richmond, VA; three sisters-in-law: Sue Berry, Aliquippa; Audrey (Ted) Lybarger, Center Township; Marge Foxall, Chester, VA; several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
