Ann Robinson

Ann Susan Robinson (née Bearer), age 76, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family on October 14, 2026. Born in Canton, Ohio, on May 25, 1950, she was the beloved daughter of the late Clarence P. Bearer and Leona Katherine (Frymyer) Sweet.

Ann was a graduate of North Allegheny High School Class of 1968. She retired from Steel City Marine Transport, Inc. as Operations Manager after over 30 years of dealing with towboaters, who both warmed her heart and gave her many grey hairs.

Known for her lively spirit and boundless generosity, Ann truly delighted in fi nding unique ways to make others happy and gather people together. Ann enjoyed diverse and numerous activities. She always loved traveling, especially visiting national parks and taking casino trips with her siblings and friends. Ann was an avid reader, passing the love of reading to her children and grandchildren. In her younger years you may have found her horseback riding, camping under the stars, golfi ng, square dancing, crafting, or gardening. Recently she enjoyed bird watching, sudoku puzzles, rock tumbling, building lego gardens, and weekly game dates with her Mahjong friends.

Ann had a wonderful sense of humor and never missed a chance to throw out a bit of sarcasm or make a wisecrack.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence Paul and Leona Katherine, and her dear brother, Donald Ray Bearer.

Ann’s legacy of love lives on through her surviving family. She was a devoted mother to her two children, William E. Throckmorton Jr. and Julie (Brendan) McKoen. She was the cherished grandmother of Raina (Nick Fratto) McKoen and Shae McKoen, who brought immense light to her life. She is also survived by her loving siblings, Karen Schwab and Marvin (Kathi) Bearer, as well as a community of extended family and lifelong friends who will miss her dearly.

Ann will be remembered always as a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.

A memorial visitation will be held at the Saul-Gabauer funeral home on Sunday October 25th from 3-5pm.
