Anthony was born in Yugoslavia in 1944, to Steve and Ann Kubik. At just 8 years old, Tony, and his family boarded a small vessel, making the long arduous journey to America.
Tony studied hard to learn English so he could help his Mother and younger brother John adapt in a new country.
He grew up to serve in the United States Army where he spent most of his time deployed in Germany.
His military training as an Electronic Technician led him to work at AES Beaver Valley Power Station in Monaca, PA.
Tony was a lifetime Member of the Ukrainian Club in Aliquippa.
He is survived by his former wife, Lynda Kubik and his brother John Kubik.
He is also survived by his first wife, Vicki Welling and their children Tony (Valerie) Kubik, Dawn Henderson and Steve Kubik.
He was preceded in death by his former son in law Edward Henderson.
His greatest joy has always been his children and grandchildren. Tara, AJ, Kyle, BriAnna, Avrilee & Jax will miss their Pappy Tony dearly.
Even when he slowed down and couldn’t venture out as much, he always made sure he had goodies on hand for the kids - and they knew where his secret stash was…they were partners in crime, smiling like it was their shared secret.
Tony always loved cooking and was very adventurous in the kitchen. I never once saw him use a recipe but it always turned out delicious. Some of my favorite memories are of him rolling his famous stuffed cabbages before the holidays. It was a special treat we always looked forward to.
Tony loved throwing parties and was very devoted to his closest friends, especially Jack.
He enjoyed boating on the river, collecting antiques and watching westerns.
Tony was interested in astronomy. He could talk for hours about the constellations. He could tell you every star and planet looking up at the night sky.
Tony will be remembered for his fun-loving personality and generosity of spirit most of all. His legacy lives on through the love he shared and we are grateful for the many memories that will live on in our hearts forever.
Friends will be received on Tuesday, October 14, 2025 from 2-4 and 6-8pm and a Catholic Blessing Service, including full military honors, will be held on Wednesday, October 15, 2025 at 10:30am at the Saul-Gabauer Funeral Home, 273 Route 68, Rochester, PA 15074. Tony will be laid to rest following the funeral services and military honors at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
The family wishes to send their sincere thanks to Good Samaritan Hospice House in Wexford, PA for the amazing care they provided. We cannot imagine a more beautiful or peaceful environment.
