

Antonette R. Shutey, passed away peacefully in her home on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at the age of 98.
Born June 12,1928, in Midland, Pennsylvania to her parents Giuseppe and Charina Cellini who were born in Pettorano Sul Gizio, Italy.
Antonette lived a life defined by faith, family, service, and quiet strength. Throughout her life, her first and constant thoughts were always for the feelings and well-being of others. She rarely spoke of the tremendous responsibilities she carried, choosing instead to meet each day with resilience, dignity, and an unwavering sense of purpose.
Antonette was an active and devoted member of her community. She was a proud member of the Italian Sons and Daughters of America, served as Co-Chairman of the Mother-of-Twins Club, and was a faithful member of St. Cecilia Church for more than 60 years where she was also a member of the Christian Mothers.
She was married to Raymond Shutey for 59 years, and together they built a beautiful life while raising their five children on the family farm in Rochester, Pennsylvania. Their home was one filled with love, hard work, laughter, and unwavering devotion to family.
Antonette was known for many things—her legendary card-playing skills, her famous blackberry pies, and the warmth she extended to family, friends, and neighbors alike. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, resilience, faith, and unwavering devotion to those she loved. Her influence will continue to live on in the lives of her children, grandchild, great-grandchild, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Antonette was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Shutey, and brothers Angelo Cellini and Albert Cellini, sisters Concetta Cellini, Evelyn Unterberger, Dora Petronio, Flora Molinaro, Teresa Nohe). Brother in-law Nicholas Shutey and Sisters in-law Margaret Kisic, Elsie Shutey, and Elizabeth Jasper.
She is survived by her children, Ray Shutey and (wife Debbie Shutey), Karen Sheik, Diane Shutey, Dori Kozak and Frank Shutey; her grandson, Kyle (Christine) Shutey; her great-grandson, Hunter Shutey; her sister, Ellen Conway along with many extended family members, dear friends, and generations of lives she touched.
The viewing will be held at Saul Gabauer on Saturday, June 27, 2026 from 9:15am until the time of closing prayers at 10:15am. Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow at St. Cecilia Church at 10:30am.
