Born December 16, 1939, to Charles E. (“Cotton”) Fuller and Thelma “Mid” Fuller (Freeman), Carol grew up in Scenery Hill, PA, and graduated from Ellsworth High School. It is from there that she embarked on her life with John J. "Jack" Bucenell. Married May 28, 1960, they lived a life of love while growing their family, careers and community. After stints in Pittsburgh and Cleveland, they settled in Center Township, PA, in the St. James Park neighborhood where the family grew and thrived.
Carol was employed by Stone and Webster for several years. When the steel industry which Jack was employed by went under, they found themselves on the opposite end of the state in Catasauqua where Carol found employment at the Lehigh Valley Post Office. This time at the post office prepared Carol for her final stint of employment at Rincon Country West RV Resort in Tucson where she moved a few years after Jack’s passing in 1997. She only recently retired from that work at 80 years of age and relocated to Wesley Chapel to retire closer to family. Everywhere she lived, she made friends that continue to recall her infectious laugh and how much fun she was to be around. Carol was also an avid fan of the Hallmark Channel.
She is survived by her children, Jon Bucenell (girlfriend Lorie Shaffer) of Chesapeake, VA, Jim (Sue) Bucenell of Wesley Chapel, FL, Constance (Robert) Fox of Imperial, PA, and Carolyn (John) Hendricks of Morgantown, WV, and daughter-in-law Cheryl Bucenell of Chesapeake, VA; grandchildren Brian Bucenell, Shane and Taylor Bucenell, Maggie, Bobby (Sarah) and Joey Fox and 3 great grandchildren, Brian Jr. and Savannah Bucenell and Hayden Fox. She is also survived by sister, Connie Ross of Anthem, AZ, brother Ronald (Yoshiko) Fuller of Chula Vista, CA, as well as nieces Pam and Rhonda Ross, nephews Tom (Angelica) and Charlie Fuller and Rob (James Tabeek) Bucenell and Vincent Bucenell, several great nieces and nephews and brother-in-law Jim (Roberta) Bucenell.
In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her loving husband John (“Jack”), a child to miscarriage, brother Charles (“Bud”) Fuller, sister-in-law Teresa Fuller, brother-in-law John Ross, Jr., nephew Joey Fuller, brother-in-law Rick Bucenell and sister-in-law Cindy Bucenell.
Friends and family will be received Monday, January 23, 2023, at Saul-Gabauer Funeral Home in Rochester, PA at 10 am until the 12 pm service with Pastor George Palombo officiating. Private interment will follow at Sylvania Hills Cemetery where she and Jack will again be side by side.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be made to the American Lung Association (www.lung.org)
