She was born in Rochester on January 5, 1928, a daughter of the late Harry C. and Lena G. (Hawk) McNear. She was one of twelve children. She was a graduate of Rochester High School. She worked for the Beaver Superette and then for Beaver Coca Cola Bottling Company for 36 years as a bookkeeper. She was a lifelong member of the Rochester Salvation Army and Home League Auxiliary.
Isabelle was married to the late John Barber on November 8, 1949, and resided with him in Monaca until his passing in 2007.
In addition to her parents and husband, Isabelle was preceded in death by her sisters, Anabelle (Robert) Stillwagon and Betty Louise (Fred) Eder; brothers, Harold, Harry Louis (Marie), William, Robert, John (Jenny) and James McNear, as well as a special aunt, Annabelle Hawk, father and mother-in-law, John and Ethel Barber, brothers-in-law, Thomas, James and Herman, and sisters-in-law, Ann Reese and Gertrude Barber.
Isabelle is survived by her children, Donald E. Barber and his wife Denise and Linda J. Corbin and her husband Joe, both of Monaca; grandchildren, Kevin J. Nixon and his wife Krissy, Kelli Corbin, Christopher D. Nixon and his fiancée Anelise, Kimberly E. and Josh Maley, Wayne E. Barber and his girlfriend Robin Campbell, and Kristi D. and Brian Hamilton; step-grandchildren, Amy and Ken Zombeck and Brad and Yoko Corbin; 20 great-grandchildren, Jaden, Ashton, Liam, Justin, Alyssa, Kyleigh, Grant, Gabrielle, Brody, Charlotte, Cameron, Carly, Tabetha, Brooke, and step-great grandchildren, Madison, Aiden, Nathan, Alexander, Skye and Mia. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received on Sunday from 2 to 8 p.m. in the SAUL-GABAUER FUNERAL HOME INC., 273 Route 68, Rochester (adjacent to Sylvania Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum). A funeral service will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with interment to follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.
