Catherine M. (Yurkovich) Houston, age 96, of Hopewell Township, passed away on Monday, September 21, 2026 at Franciscan Manor in Patterson Township. Born April 9, 1930, in Madera, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late John and Theresa Yurkovich. She was Catholic in Faith, having attended Our Lady of Fatima Church in Hopewell Township.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, the late Vernon W. Houston (1986), and five brothers and sisters.
She is survived by a daughter, Theresa (Dennis) Patsch, two sons; Vernon Houston and Tim (Elizabeth) Houston, one stepdaughter, Darlyne Entrekin, eleven grandchildren; Benjamin (Megan), Kelsey, Megan, Anna, Traci, Bryan, Darren, Eliza, Jesse, Emma and Zachary, and numerous great grandchildren.
Friends will be received on Friday, September 25, 2026 from 2pm until the time of a Catholic Blessing Service at 4pm at the Saul-Gabauer Funeral Home, 273 Route 68, Rochester, PA 15074. Interment will follow at Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.
