Catherine Musone

Catherine Musone (Kazel), age 77, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2025, surrounded by her family. Cathy was born on September 9, 1947, in Ambridge, PA to George and Virginia Kazel. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Nicky and Richie, and her pup Finnegan.

Cathy triumphed with courage and love, and gained peace and joy through her faith and loved ones. Her memories will always be present in the lives of her son Jason, daughter-in-law Edna, grandson Matteo, family members and friends.

Cathy was the quintessential nurturer, first as a librarian and later taking care of her parents, brothers and raising her only son Jason. In recent years, she was blessed with the love and unbelievable care of her “daughter” Edna, who reciprocated that same love and compassion as only she could. Her grandson Matteo filled her days with love, laughter and pride, as they often sang “You are my sunshine, my only sunshine” together.

Cathy was loved by so many and was blessed with great friends with whom she shared beautiful moments, laughter, long phone calls, books, dinners and special times. She was truly the best listener who had the keen ability to know what to say and when to say it. She was selective and true with her words, prioritizing quality over quantity. Always thoughtful and wise, she relished her roles as a Mother, Grandmother and friend. She quietly supported many social causes with the goal to leave a better world for all. She leaves with us a legacy of love, courage, strength, faith, generosity and friendship and will forever be missed.

The viewing will be held Saturday September 6th, 2025 from 10-11am at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church Ambridge, PA with the funeral service following afterwards.
