Courtney L. Wilson

Courtney Lyle Wilson, age 76, of Industry, died peacefully at home on Tuesday, March 31, 2026. Born on June 13, 1949, in Oakland, California, and raised in Minot, North Dakota, he was the son of the late Floyd and Jean (Rearick) Wilson. In addition to being a loving husband, uncle, great uncle and great-great uncle, he was a graduate of Minot High School. He enlisted in the Navy in 1969 and served during the Vietnam War as a sea air crewman aboard the USS Oriskany, where he received the Navy and Marine Corps medal for heroism in 1971 after saving two lives. He was honorably discharged in 1973. Afterwards, he worked for several companies as a heavy equipment operator. He also worked in the oil and gas field. After receiving his A&P (Airframe and Powerplant) License, he worked as a mechanic at Skywest until 1989 when he was employed by USAir (now American Airlines). He retired as a mechanic in 2014.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Sandy Wilson Jevne.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 30 years, Karen (Dewar) Wilson; a sister, Kathy (Bill) Westhoff; his sisters-in-law, Beverly Dewar, Kathy Dewar and Lori (Tim) Guthrie; and brothers-in-law, John (Diane) Dewar and Bob (Marie) Dewar, along with numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.

In addition to tinkering in his home shop, he loved making beautiful stained glass window panels, which he gave to family and friends. He also enjoyed trap and skeet shooting at Millvale Sportsmans Club, blacksmithing with the "Ohio gang" and the Pittsburgh Area Artist and Blacksmiths Association, and donating his time and skills at the Southside Historical Village.

Friends will be received on Friday, April 3, 2026 from 12 noon until the time of funeral services at 3:30pm at the Saul-Gabauer Funeral Home, 273 Route 68, Rochester, PA 15074. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to the Hillman Cancer Center, www.upmchillman.com/donate
