

David Gold, age 92, of New Sewickley Township, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, November 25, 2014. Born January 7, 1922, in Trenton, NJ, he was the son of the late Robert and Mary Ellen (Whalen) Gold.
David was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He served three years as a Metalsmith, Second Class on the U.S.S. Clarence K. Bronson, a destroyer, in the South Pacific, taking part in eleven invasions and two sea battles.
He enjoyed farming, auctions, cutting wood, and going for rides in the country. David is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Jean (Bonzo) Gold; his three devoted daughters: Debbie Hill and her husband Greg; Kathy Varna and her husband, Dan; Shirley Grossetti and her husband Joe; his two granddaughters: Amanda Young and Savannah Grossetti.
He is also survived by two sisters: Mary Palmquist and Alice Dietrich; and two brothers: Robert Gold and Edward Gold.
In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by one brother: William “Barney” Gold and a sister: Katherine McClellan.
David will be laid to rest at Sylvania Hills Memorial Park with a private burial attended by his immediate family.
A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, January 7th, David’s birthday, at Burry’s Church, 1835 Route 68, Rochester, PA 15074, with Pastor Win Groseclose, officiating.
Military Honors will be presented by members of the Beaver County Special Unit at 11 a.m. prior to the Celebration Service at the Burry’s Church.
