He was the third son of James S. and Helen Ahlbrand Huyler born on 2-8-1961 at Riverside Hospital in Boonton, NJ. According to his mother, his grandmother came down the hill on skis with ski poles due to the amount of snow on the ground to be with his brothers Randy and Tommy while their parents went to the hospital.
As he grew, he looked forward to scouting with scout leaders he truly admired and taught him well. He really enjoyed family vacations that involved camping, hiking, swimming and boating. He loved sports, particularly football, basketball and baseball which he enjoyed playing as much as watching. After he graduated Montville Township High School in June of 1979, he attended Morris County Community College until he joined the US Army in November 1980.
He trained at Fort Leonard Wood Missouri and Fort Sam Houston, Texas. He was assigned as a Physical Therapy Assistant at Fort Monmouth, New Jersey, Landstuhl Army Medical Center, Landstuhl, Germany and Fort Rucker, Alabama. He met his wife Connie L Huyler at his first assignment and they married in October 1985. He was a strong supporter of his wife during her 20-year Army career doing different jobs at various assignments. His favorite job was running his own business in Payson, Utah selling Collectible Sports Cards and Memorabilia. He enjoyed coaching youth football in Germany and was able to coach the Bamberg Bears German-American football team as well.
He had a strong desire to make the world a better place through humor and had a strong desire to help others. He was happy to have made some great friends in his time in the Army. He loved his family and taught them the skills needed to help them be self-reliant. He had a strong faith and understanding of scriptures that drew others to him and he will be sorely missed. His hobbies included collecting Football and Baseball Sports Cards and other Collectibles. He enjoyed a fantasy football league. He liked old movies with dialog, Mel Brooks, Star Trek, Star Wars, John Wayne or James Bond. He loved old music Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra, Classic Rock, AC/DC, Ray Stevens and some country.
