David Lodovico Sr. passed away peacefully on Thursday 9/21/2023 @ 1444 at Good Samaritan Hospice Center surrounded by love. Dave was born 4/11/1941 in Rochester Hospital and a graduate of Freedom Area High School in 1959. Son of Nick and Relva Lodovico (deceased). David was preceded in death by his granddaughter Sophia Lodovico and his eldest son David N. Jr. Lodovico. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years Elizabeth A. Lodovico (Betty), son Nickie T. Lodovico, grandchildren: Cassandra, Domenic, Taylor, Rosetta, Addyson, Camryn, and Mason Lodovico, and brother Tom Lodovico, wife Beverly, nephews Tom Jr, Steve, Robert, niece Elaine, and daughter in law Nicole Lodovico. David served during the Vietnam conflict aboard the USS Platte AO-24 refueling tanker. He retired in 1994 from Aliquippa Works of LTV Steel with 30 years of service. David was an avid sports fan, especially the Steelers, Pens, and Pirates. He was a lifetime Notre Dame fan, win or lose. The one thing Dave cherished most in life was his family. More than anything he was a doting husband, a loving father, and a cherished grandfather. David was a self defined hugger, a jokester, and always bringing love, smiles and laughter to all. Per David’s wishes there will be no visitation. Funeral arrangements will be handled by SAUL-GABAUER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 273 Route 68, Rochester (adjacent to the Sylvania Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum) for a private prayer service for immediate family. This man was beyond special with an amazingly big heart. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed. Until we all meet again, we love you!
