

ROCHESTER
Dominic Chirico, 89, of Rochester, passed on Monday, July 3, 2017 surrounded by his loving family and under the compassionate care of Good Samaritan Hospice. He was born October 3, 1927 in Campbell, OH, son of the late Tony and Mary (Sarodji) Chirico.
He proudly served his country with the U.S. Army during WWII. Dom was a retired Conductor from Conrail after over 35 years of service.
He was a self-taught handyman who could tackle all types of home remodeling and repair. Dom was always willing to help family, friend or neighbor. He enjoyed fishing in Pymatuning Lake or Canada. He liked to play cards and visit the River’s Casino. Dom was a member of the SNPJ Western Pennsylvania Button Box Club. Dom he loved and thoroughly enjoyed his entire family. He was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter: Janet Marie Chirico; two brothers: Anthony “Ninny” Chirico and Frank Chirico; one sister: Angie Schaffer.
Dominic is survived by his wife Dolores “Dee”; five children and spouses: Dominic (Zoanne) Chirico, Rochester; Thomas (Tina) Chirico, New Sewickley Township; Gary (Samantha) Chirico, East Palestine, OH; Tony Chirico, Rochester; Karen (Wayne) Souffrant, Rochester; eight grandchildren; three great grandchildren; three sisters: Elizabeth “Bessie” Young, Center Township; Josephine Cantanzarite, Rochester; Rose Crocker, Vanport.
Friends will be received on Friday, July 7, 2017 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the SAUL-GABAUER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 273 Route 68 Rochester (GPS 848 Sunflower Road, adjacent to Sylvania Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum). A blessing service will be held Saturday, 11 a.m. in the funeral home with Fr. Mark Carter, celebrant. Private interment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.
Military Honors will be presented at 11:30 by members of the Beaver County Special Unit.
