Donald Carpenter

Donald Carpenter of Economy, PA, age 93, passed away peacefully on January 5 2025, due to a brief battle with cancer. He was born in Ambridge, PA to George and Bessy Carpenter on February 1, 1931. He spent most of his life traveling around the United States with his wife and family. He enjoyed nature, especially traveling to Alaska and Tennessee. He spent majority of his work life as a crane operator for Armco Steel in Ambridge, Pa . He was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 75 years Bonita. He is survived by his sister Donna (Edwin) Moffett. He is survived by his children Donald (Dee) Carpenter II, Susan (James) Shaw, Scott (Estelle) Carpenter, and Amy (David) Scassa. He is survived by his grandchildren Donald Carpenter III, Zachary Tanaka, Kayla (James) Carpenter, Katie (Adam) Norman, and Cassidy (Jacob) Scott. He is survived by his great-grandchildren Seth (Mai) Tanaka, Elizabeth Tanaka, and Elliot Carpenter. The family would like to give a special thank you to Good Samaritan Hospice of Wexford, Pa for taking such good care of Donald.

Friends will be received on Wednesday, January 8, 2025 from 11am until the time of funeral services at 2pm at the Saul Gabauer Funeral Home, 273 Route 68, Rochester, PA.
