Doris "Polly" Inge

Doris “Polly” Inge, 87 of Beaver, passed away Thursday, March 8, 2018 at Good Samaritan Hospice, Beaver. She was born January 6, 1931 in Rochester, daughter of the late Paul and Edna (Whitmore) Martin. Known affectionately as Polly by family and friends, she was a former employee of Bell Telephone, the Freedom Library and retired from the Library at Penn State Beaver. In earlier years she enjoyed knitting and was also a talented seamstress. She was an avid reader who read a wide range of novels from murder mysteries to Amish tales. Polly also loved to assemble jigsaw puzzles. She was a member of the Bridgewater United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, Polly was preceded by her husband: Charles W. Inge, Sr.; and her brother: James Martin. She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law: Robert A. Inge, Weirton, WV; Charles W. Inge, Jr., Midland and spouse Ann Theiss-Inge; three grandchildren: Ian Theiss, Allison Inge and Kayla Inge; two great grandchildren: Chase and Noah; her brother and sister-in-law: William and Jean Martin, Maineville, OH; four sisters and a brother-in-law: Lillie Baxa, Rochester; Ruth Anderson, Beaver Falls; Arlene (Jack) Johns, Beaver; Shirley Raddish, Conway; numerous nieces and nephews and extended family. Friends will be received on Sunday, March 11, 2018 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the SAUL-GABAUER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 273 Route 68, Rochester (adjacent to Sylvania Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum). A service to celebrate her life will be held at 4 p.m. with Pastor Harriet Hutton, officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be direct to Good Samaritan Hospice, Beaver.
