Dorothy J Champ

She was born on October 26, 1942 in Youngstown, Ohio and attended Chaney High School. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. She is preceded in death by her parents Mary Koslina and Louis Zorella and her brother Louis Zorella, Jr. She is survived by her husband of 63 years Donald Champ Sr, the love of her life. She is also survived by her sister Eleanor (Ed) Brennan Youngstown, OH.

Together, Dorothy and Donald had six wonderful children: Renee Malutic (Chris Grosbeck) Youngstown, OH, Dawn Librich (Nick) Brighton Twp, PA, Daniel Champ (Leslie) Brighton Twp PA, Thomas (Lisa) Champ Brighton Twp, PA, Donald Champ Jr. “Butch” Koppel, PA, Jacqueline Smith (Donald) Chippewa, PA; six grandchildren: Danielle Reda (Maxwell) Brighton Twp, PA, Haley Champ Monaca, PA, Michael Champ Brighton Twp PA, Erica Smith Chippewa, PA, Ashton Champ Koppel, PA, Amanda Reda West Mayfield, PA; and a great grandchild Collin Reda, Beaver Falls, PA.

Dorothy was a well-known and active member of her community where she was a volunteer with the United Way and the American Red Cross. She served as the Judge of Elections for her local precinct for many years and was a member of Our Lady of the Valley Parish in Beaver, PA.

Dorothy will always be remembered for her fiery spirit and larger than life personality. She was a wonderful cook that always enjoyed cooking and baking Italian meals for large family gatherings. Nothing made her happier than having her home filled with her children and grandchildren. Her heart was full when she could serve her family and enjoy their company.

Friends will be received on Sunday, January 14, 2024 from 2-4pm at SAUL-GABAUER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 273 Route 68, Rochester (adjacent to the Sylvania Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum). A Christian service will be conducted on Monday, January 15, 2024 at 11am, at the funeral home.
