Dorothy Louise Sigler, 90, passed away on October 21, 2026. Born on August 13, 1936, in New Brighton, Pennsylvania, she helped her sister, Jean (deceased), care for their three younger brothers: John, Robert (Bob), and Joseph. These early responsibilities shaped her lifelong devotion to family.
Dorothy married Roger G. Sigler on September 26, 1959. They shared 53 years of marriage until his passing on February 15, 2013. She is survived by her son, Roger G. Sigler II; her daughter, Lorraine Fontillas; her three brothers; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Following her husband's death, she continued traveling alone across the country to visit her children and grandchildren, demonstrating her enduring love for family.
A devoted homemaker, Dorothy took pride in maintaining a spotless home and preparing three balanced meals daily. She enjoyed General Hospital for decades, cheered enthusiastically at her children's and grandchildren's wrestling, baseball, football, and hockey events, and remained a loyal Pittsburgh Penguins fan.
A faithful Roman Catholic, Dorothy taught her children to love God and the Church and to pray for their loved ones. She also ensured they learned music: Roger played the clarinet, Eric (deceased) played the violin, and Lorraine played the piano. Her life reflected devotion, honesty, loyalty, and quiet strength.
Special thanks go to Selene Sigler, wife of her son Roger, for helping care for Dorothy following the death of her other son, Eric, on January 12, 2025. The family also extends its gratitude to the caring staff at Pegasus Senior Living and Your Choice Hospice for their support, especially during Dorothy's final days.
Mom, we look forward to seeing you someday.
“For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.”
1 Thessalonians 4:16–17 (KJV)
