Edna was born December 27, 1921 to Ollie and Bert Dunlap. Preceding her in death were her parents, her brothers and sisters; Albert, Wilbert, Lawrence, Marian, Sarah, Dorothy, Bertha, Louise, Martha, and Vivian; her daughter in laws Georgia and Joan, along with many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was fortunate to have several loves in her life. Boyd, the love of her life, husband of 44 years, who passed away in 1983; and her companion of 7 years Earl Shields who preceded her in 2009. Her greatest pride and joy is her family. She is survived by her boys, sons Dennis States, Gerald States and her grandchildren Denise (Jimmy Donnadio) Casey, Amy States, Alyson (Donald) Morrissey, Dennis (Cathy) States, Geri Chumak, her great grandchildren Ashley Casey, Nick (Marissa) Casey, Ryan States, Shane (Christy) States, Brandon (Morgan) States, Michael (Kelly) States, Tina States (Stephen Harris), Nicolle Chumak, and Hailey Chumak(Robert Caldwell), and great, great grandchildren Colt, Josie, Cash, Broc, Chloe, Sophia, Sadie, Jameson, Dean, Laurel, Lycan, and Scarlott. She treasured her family, many family dinners, and especially her Friday night dinners with her boys. Edna had a strong work ethic and worked for American Bridge and Spang Chalfant during World War II, welding on the LST’s. She worked for the Allegheny County Housing Authority, and retired in 1983 from Sears, Roebuck and Co after 27 years of service. She loved to travel and her adventures took her many places. With Boyd, they traveled the country, camping in the state parks. She visited all 50 states and many of the U.S. territories. Boyd and Edna traveled to France and Germany to visit their son Dennis while he served in the Army. She made traveling her passion after Boyd's passing and her retirement. In her lifetime she traveled through Europe, the USSR, New Zealand, Australia, Israel, Egypt, Jerusalem, and the Panama Canal to name a few. Edna loved telling her family her life story. She spoke of her time as a child growing up near Rossiter, PA, her being one of the first children in her family to graduate in 1939 from Clymer High School, and her many, many travels. She attended English Lutheran Church, was a member of the former Lighthouse Lutheran church and was an active member of the Economy Borough senior citizens. She made clothes for her grandkids, and was an amazing baker spending many years making Christmas cookies with the grandchildren and great grandchildren. She shared many of her "secret" recipes. Her stories of her life and everything she saw in her 104 years was enough to fill a book. Her family was blessed to have her with them for so many years and cherishes every memory.
