Edward Robert “Bob” Braun, 72, of Ambridge, passed Friday, May 23, 2014 while under the care of Family Hospice and Palliative Care. He was born July 24, 1941 in Pittsburgh. Known affectionately by family as Bob, he proudly served his county with the U.S. Marine Corps. He was employed as a maintenance superintendent with Pittsburgh Intermodal where his co-workers jokingly called him “Ed-Bob”
Bob will always be remembered as a hardworking man who loved his family. He was a member of Christ Church at Grove Farm.
He is survived by his wife: Janet (Barkfelt) Braun, Ambridge; two sons: Robert and Chad Braun, both of Ambridge; a daughter and son-in-law: Marcy and Gary Hoge, Ambridge; Janet’s two sons whom he loved and raised: Richard Barkfelt, Ambridge and Michael Wheeler, Carnegie; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; and his brother Jack Braun of Ohio.
Friends will be received Monday, May 26, 2014 from 1 to 8 p.m., with a service at 4 p.m., in the SAUL-GABAUER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 273 Route 68, Rochester (GPS 848 Sunflower Road, adjacent to Sylvania Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum). Private entombment will be in the Sylvania Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum
