Erica J. Davids

March 25, 1971December 25, 2019

Erica J. Davids, 48, of Rochester, PA, passed away peacefully on the morning of December 25, 2019 after a long and brave battle with breast cancer. Erica was born March 25, 1971 to Donna Scalcione and Anthony Conti in Marlboro, Mass., and devoted her life to teaching. Fondly known to many in Beaver County as Mrs. Davids, she taught kindergarten at Freedom Elementary School for more than 10 years. Her devotion to her students was unparalleled as was her devotion to life. Her infectious smile and eternally positive outlook made her unforgettable to all who met her, and her bubbly personality would fill even the darkest room with light. More than a teacher, she was a mother and her fierce support of not only her children and grandson, but of every child she taught made them feel what true love really is.

Our Christmas angel is survived by her husband, Dennis; her four children, Alison, Maggie, Alex and Tori; her son-in-law and daughter-in-law, Daniel and Clairissa, her beloved grandson, Denny; her parents and their spouses, Donna and Beverly, and Anthony and Sarah; her brother Nick, his wife Carol, and their children; her sister Virginia and her children; her brother James, his wife Gayathri, and their son; a large extended family; and the entire Freedom and Rochester area communities which supported her and her family through it all.

Friends will be received from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm on Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2019 at the Saul-Gabauer Funeral Home, Inc., 273 Route 68, Rochester(Adjacent to Sylvania Hills Memorial Park), where a memorial service will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 1, 2020 at 10 am. All are welcome to attend. There’s plenty of room and love. Online condolences may be shared at

Frist our family gives our sympathy to you all. I would like to thank her for being a great teacher. You could tell she loved kids. She had my Son in kindergarten frist and when she saw kimberly she told me she would see kimberly in 5 years and she did. She was hoping to have Paula too. Paula won't have that opportunity. She had a very special spirit about her and she will be missed.

Auntie I’m gonna miss you so much. I appreciate all the times you were there for me, for my whole life. You were the most selfless, brightest kindest person I’ve ever met. And I’m proud that you were my auntie. I always enjoyed visiting you and spending the holidays at your house! You made the best food and baked the best brownies! You’re in the best place on earth now and that brings some peace to my heart. Until we meet again auntie.

We moved to Freedom last year, and Mrs. Davids was our daughter Ellie's first teacher. Mrs. Davids welcomed Ellie with open arms and made such a lasting impression on Ellie and our family. We found a school assignment that Ellie had written her "Christmas Wish" was for Mrs. Davids to get better. We told Ellie the news today and Ellie said that she will now be her Christmas Angel.

I will never forget this beautiful day so full of beauty, love, and happiness. My heart is so absolutely broken that this beautiful woman is gone to heaven far too soon. She was truly the sweetest person I have ever known. She so enriched my life and my three daughters lives. We are forever truly grateful for the many wonderful memories of our time with Erica. She was the best Wife, Mother, Friend, Teacher, Daughter, Auntie, Godmother, Granddaughter,, Sister, Niece that one could ever ask for. She was indeed a bucket filler. Her laughter and smile were infectious and contagious. She spread joy to all she knew. My prayers are with all of her family and friends. I will always love you dear friend and until we meet again may you Rest In Peace.
Love Always

So very sorry for your loss.
Erica was one of those individuals who made you a better person just for having met her. She truly brightened up the room and you always left with a smile.
In addition, her brownies were simply heavenly...just like her. I am glad for the opportunity to have known her, however brief it was.
