Esther M. (Farkas) Barnes, a loving mother and wife, went to heaven on August 2, 2017 at the age of 85. She was born in Darlington, PA on January 7, 1932, daughter of the late Louis and Rose (Biro) Farkas. She graduated from Beaver Falls High School, Class of 1951. Esther was married to the late Ira L. Barnes, Jr. for 46 years, who passed away on December 4, 2006.
In addition to her parents and husband, Esther was preceded in death by her siblings: Louis Farkas, George Farkas, infant Veronica Farkas, Wilma Custer and Sylvia Zwieryznski.
She leaves behind three sons and a daughter: David L. (Rosemary) Barnes, Sr., New Brighton; Tina (Kevin) Peters, Wampum; Ronald “Joe” (Nita Veres) Barnes, New Castle; Gary “Chip” (Mary Ellen Johnson) Barnes, Koppel; eleven grandchildren: David, Jr. (Jenny); Tiffany (Ryan); Anthony (Melissa); Joshua; Brian; Jennifer (Todd); Jessica (Jake); Jackie (Brett); Jessica (Andrew); Trisha (Brian); Jeanne (Neal); twenty-five great grandchildren: Henry, Brooke, Logan, Hunter, Caden, Carter, Lilly, Chloe, Addison, Reese, Walker, Cameron, D.J., Elie Jo, Hayley, Luca, Zoe, Otto, Amelia, Juniper, Matthew, Andrew, Jacob, Razmey, Laudia; six siblings: Paul Farkas; Frank (Wilma) Farkas; Steve (Norma) Farkas; Rose Bovalino; Goldie Thomas and Sally Jo Patton.
Friends will be received on Saturday, August 5, 2017 from 6 to 8 p.m. in the SAUL-GABAUER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 273 Route 68, Rochester (GPS 848 Sunflower Road, adjacent to Sylvania Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum). In honor of her wishes, she will be cremated and placed with her late husband Ira in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.
