Harry P. Grimes

Harry P. Grimes, age 97, of New Brighton, passed away on Monday, June 30, 2025 at Kadima at Harmony in Harmony Township. Born October 14, 1927, in Clarksburg, West Virginia, he was the son of the late Harry M. and Nellie (Boggs) Grimes. He was a member of Unionville Methodist Church of Rochester. Harry joined the Carpenters Union in 1951, having served in the Union for 74 years. He loved the outdoors, and walking with his dog, Morgan. Harry enjoyed doing puzzles, reading, talking and sharing stories. In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting and fishing.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, the late Lennie (Hamrick) Grimes (2015), two brothers; Charles and Dale Grimes, two sisters; Virginia and Thelma.

He is survived by, two daughters and one son; Mary Alice Brown, David (Antonia) Grimes, and Becky (Rick) Lewis. Also surviving are six grandchildren; Cory (Georgetta) Brown, Julie (Brian) Chips, Briana (Ryan) Bowles, Samantha (Mario) Funair, Vanessa (Chris) Campbell, and Maddi (Eric) Rodecker, nine great grandchildren; Philip (Sabrina) Chips, Braden and Brinley Bowles, Willow, Xavier and Myles Funair, Lexi and Lainey Campbell, Charli Rae Rodecker; one sister; Ella Ruth (Boggs) Noland, one half brother; Thomas Grimes, one half sister, Millie Utt, and numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews.

As per Harry's wishes, all services were private and entrusted to the Saul-Gabauer Funeral Home, 273 Route 68, Rochester, PA 15074. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at Kadima at Harmony for their tremendous care and support, especially Wendy, who took exceptional care of Harry.
