Born August 13, 1930, in McKees Rocks, PA. Helen was the daughter of the late John Fetsko and Irene (Nadzam) Fetsko. Helen was a graduate of Neville Island High School. She was a loving and devoted daughter, sister, wife, aunt, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Throughout her life she enjoyed Michigan trips and traveling, sewing, gardening, baking, and cooking. She made the best sheet pizzas, pierogies and Easter breads. She loved nature and birds, especially hummingbirds, and she enjoyed fishing. She was a devout Christian who loved God and raised her children to be loving people. She was a member of Our Lady of Peace Church. She was a terrific caretaker to her mom at the end of her mom’s life for the last several years until she passed away at 90. Helen had a wonderful sense of humor and always looked at the brighter side of life. She had 74 years of marriage to her beloved Al.
She is survived by her children, David Savage of New Brighton, Jeanne (Joe) Ricciardi of Beaver, Sharon (Tom) Anderson of Washington State, Cheryl Savage-Mazza of North Carolina, Gregory (Cathy) Savage of Rochester and Teresa (Tom) Smith of Evans City. Also surviving are 17 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received on Monday September 11, 2023 from 10:00 till time of blessing service at noon at the Saul-Gabauer Funeral Home 273 Rt. 68 Rochester, PA 15074.
Interment will follow at Sylvania Hills memorial Park.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, John, and Andy Fetsko, and two sisters, Mary Ortseifer and Elizabeth Baker-Gumino, and Helen’s husband Al Savage.
