Ida Crawford Wynn, 92, a lifelong resident of Monaca, passed on Monday, March 18, 2019. She was born December 8, 1926 in Monaca, daughter of the late William W. and Elva (Bittner) Massey. Ida was a graduate of Monaca High School, Class of 1944.
She enjoyed a wonderful career at the downtown Monaca Branch of Century National Bank and retired after 50 years of service. Ida knew every customer by name and always greeted you with a warm and friendly smile. She was a founding board member of the Monaca Hall of Fame and was involved in numerous social and civic organizations. Ida and a few of her classmates formed a Card Club called the “T” Club. From the days of high school graduation, to very recent months, they gathered every month to play cards. She was a faithful member of the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, Monaca.
In addition to her parents, Ida was preceded by her husbands: Franklin Crawford and Robert Wynn; and two brothers: William James Massey and Ferman Massey.
Ida is survived by five children: Patricia (Keith) Backus, Monaca; Jean (Arthur) Mangie, Center Township; William Crawford, Huffman, TX; Thomas (Denise Scriva) Crawford, Baden; Terri Lynn (Gary) Cody, Indianapolis, IN; 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Friends will be received TODAY, from 2 to 8 p.m. at the SAUL-GABAUER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 273 Route 68, Rochester (adjacent to Sylvania Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum). A funeral service to remember, honor and celebrate her life will be held 11 a.m., Thursday in the funeral home with The Reverend Angela Smith, officiating. Private interment will be in the Chimes Tower Garden, Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.
