James O. Hartley III

James O. Hartley, III, 35, beloved son of James O. Hartley, Jr., and Janette Hartley, Baden; and Rick and Martha Sweitzer, North Augusta, SC, died unexpectedly at his home in Reston, VA on June 29, 2013. He was born December 12, 1977 in Rochester Hospital, a 1996 graduate of Ambridge Area High School, and a 2001 graduate of the Kent State University School of Architecture. A resident of Reston since 2001, James was a Partner in The Group M Architecture Firm of Reston. Well known and respected in his field, James was a recipient of many awards.

In addition to his parents, James is survived by his wife: Danielle Covati, whom he married on March 12, 2012; his beloved brother: Shaun Hartley, Tacoma, WA; two step brothers: Stephen and Jacob; four step sisters; Katherine, Melissa, Stephanie and Brandi. He is also survived by his grandmother: Gloria Hartley, New Brighton; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins who loved him very much.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather: James O. Hartley, Sr., July 8, 2002; his paternal grandfather: Chauncey Leopardi, October 20, 2010; and his maternal grandmother: Madelyn Leopardi, August 18, 2011.

Friends will be received on today, from 4 to 8 p.m. in the SAUL-GABAUER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 273 Route 68, Rochester (GPS 848 Sunflower Road, adjacent to Sylvania Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum). A service will be held 10 a.m., Saturday in the funeral home with additional visitation from 9 a.m. until the time of service. The Reverend Donald McNeil, New Brighton Church of the Nazarene and The Reverend Fr. Thomas Kredel, Holy Family Parish, New Brighton will officiate. Private interment will be in the John F.
