Jeannette Ruth Ruckert, 79, of Chippewa Township, went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, June 9, 2015 under the compassionate care of Vitas Hospice and her loving family. Jeannette was born July 9, 1935 in Monaca, daughter of the late Guy and Ruth (McCauley) Grogg.
She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. In her earlier years Jeannette dabbled with ceramic crafts; in the later years she found a simple pleasure in QVC. She also enjoyed trout fishing with her husband in the lakes of Western Pennsylvania and Canada. She was quite a good angler; and with a glee in her eye, from time to time, she would tell the grandkids about the big brown trout that didn’t get away. First and foremost, family was important to Jeannette. She was so very proud of all the grandchildren and great grandchildren as they celebrated every accomplishment and milestone.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter: Linda Ruckert, June 7, 1978; five brothers: Richard, Robert, Curtis, James and Cecil; one sister: Creola Orrico.
Jeannette is survived by her devoted husband Charles N. Ruckert, with whom she celebrated 65 years of marriage on May 26, 2015; four children and their spouses: Kenny (Debbie) Ruckert, New Sewickley Township; Keith (Tina) Ruckert, Freedom; Jim Ruckert, Vanport; Susan (Sam) Kinter, Okinawa, Japan; eight grandchildren and spouses: George (Brenna) Kinter, Camp Lejeune, NC; Amy Ruckert, CA; Renee Ruckert, Patterson Township; Brian (Keri) Ruckert, Ambridge; Jimmy Ruckert, Freedom; Derreck (Sarah) Kinter, Chester, VA; Pamela Sue (Chad) Francis, Economy Borough; Nicole Ruckert, Rochester; and twelve great grandchildren with another expected soon.
Friends will be received Thursday, June 11, 2015 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. in the SAUL-GABAUER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 273 Route 68, Rochester (adjacent to Sylvania Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum). Her funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Friday, June 12, 2015 in the funeral home with Pastor David Howells, Church of the Living Christ, officiating. Private interment will follow in the Garden of Devotion, Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.
