BEAVER

Joan M. (Pollock) McKnight, 79 of Beaver passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, October 7, 2017. She was born May 28, 1938 in Mars, PA daughter of the late Fred J. and Mabel M. (Porter) Pollock.

Joan retired from retail sales at the Beaver Valley Mall. Through the years she had been employed with Joseph Horne Company, Lazarus and Boscov’s. She was a woman of faith and member of Beaver United Methodist Church. Joan had a servant’s heart and thoroughly enjoyed her volunteer work at the former Aliquippa Hospital and UPMC Cranberry. She had also served as a member of the Beaver County Welcome Wagon.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son: Mark Farneth and brother: Fred J. Pollock, Jr.

Joan is survived by her loving husband of 38 years: Gail B. McKnight; daughter: Deborah Farneth, Pottstown; brother and sister-in-law: Gerald (Sally) Pollock, Florida; sister-in-law: Lois Pollock, Baden; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the SAUL-GABAUER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 273 Route 68, Rochester (GPS 848 Sunflower Road, adjacent to Sylvania Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum). A brief funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. immediately following the visitation.
