Julius John Stasiowski, 98, of Freedom, passed away Saturday, March 23, 2019. He was born February 9, 1921 in Economy Borough, son of the late Joseph John and Lilly (Roebuck) Stasiowski. Julius proudly served his country with the U.S. Army during WWII. He was received two Bronze Service Stars from Battle Campaigns in Northern France and Germany. Julius was also a Purple Heart recipient. He was a member of the Ambridge VFW. Julius was a retired heavy equipment operator from the Pennsylvania State Highway Department.
Julius was a likeable man, with a great sense of humor, who got along well with everyone he met. He was a self-taught woodworker who could make everything from knick-knacks to furniture. Reading books on many subjects was a favorite pastime. Julius was a member of St. Felix Catholic Church, Freedom.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Helen (Kordecki) Stasiowski on November 17, 2012; two sons: Joseph and Thomas; one daughter: Anna Marie; his brother Henry and two sisters: Clara and Florence.
Julius is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law: Helen (James) Valde, Henderson, NV; LaVerne (James) Bonaparte, Freedom; 8 grandchildren and his adorable great grandchildren.
In honor of his wishes, private arrangements were by the SAUL-GABAUER FUNERAL HOME, INC. with interment in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.
