Lee “Eagle” Anderson, 74 of Overland Park, Kansas, formerly of Punxsutawney and Kersey, PA, passed on Tuesday, October 22, 2013. He was born August 16, 1939 in Rochester, son of the late Lee O. and Virginia (Bailey) Anderson. Lee served a brief time with the U.S. Air Force. He was a former employee of IBM Metals, Ridgeway and also worked construction for most of his adult life.
He loved the outdoors and after earning the Eagle Scout Award at an early age, his heart was devoted to Scouting. Lee served in Scouting for over 40 years. Lee was also a person of faith who enjoyed reading his bible. He was a member of the Grange Church of God, Punxsutawney, where he also served as an Elder and with the youth. In his leisure, he liked to fish and was also gifted at free hand drawing.
In addition to his parents, Lee was preceded in death by his sister: Patricia Anderson.
He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law: Marsha and Bud Bennett, Kersey, PA; Amy and Randy Jennings, Overland Park, KS; three grandchildren: Marty Anderson, Brandee Barton and Jennifer Jennings; his former wife: Jeannie Renaud; a sister and brother-in-law: Carol and John Sherrock, Mesa, AZ; his extended family: Jeff; Joyce and her daughter Tara; Elda and her children Helen and Mike; and numerous friends.
Family and Friends will be received Saturday, October 26, 2013 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in the SAUL-GABAUER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 273 Route 68, Rochester (GPS 848 Sunflower Road, adjacent to Sylvania Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum). His service will be held in the funeral home at 11:30 a.m. with Pastor Janis Bracken, officiating. Private interment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.
