Madelin Ruffner

Madelin M. (Spontak) Ruffner, age 88, was reunited with the love of her life, the late James R. Ruffner on December 31, 2025. Madelin's greatest love was her flowers, all animals, and most importantly her family. Madelin's best days were spent helping others, working in her flower beds and playing with her grandchildren.

Madelin is preceded in death by her husband James (January 7, 2025), her father and mother, Bert and Margaret Spontak, infant siblings, Daniel and Doralee Spontak, infant sibling, Mary Marie Spontak, brother and sister in law, Bert D. and Shirley Spontak, and brother in law Vernon 'Scotty' Gordon.

She is survived by her son, Daniel (Marguerite) Ruffner, a daughter, Laura (George) Lill, grandchildren; Abagail (Parker) Reed, Sarah (Nando Franco) Lisanti, Jacob Ruffner, Aleah Ruffner, sister Sally Gordon, and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Madelin is also survived by extended family; Michael (Julia) Lisanti, high school best friend, Joan, and her loving, faithful and loyal pup, Roxy.

Madelin will always be remembered for her strong will, energy, and giving soul to all who knew her. She was the true definition of strength and backbone for her friends, family and even strangers in need.

Friends will be received on Tuesday, January 6, 2026 from 12 noon until the time of funeral services at 2pm at the Saul-Gabauer Funeral Home, 273 Route 68, Rochester, PA 15074. Interment will follow at Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.
