Mary Jean Brehm

Mary Jean Brehm, age 100, of Economy Boro, passed away on Monday, July 11, 2022 at North Hills Health and Rehabilitation. Mary was born January 8, 1922, in Dawson, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late George and Eleanor (Waxler) Vanmeter. She was a member of the Salvation Army, and a former member of the Church of the Nazarene. Mary Jean was a homemaker, a crafter, she loved to make ceramic dolls, gardening, and raising finches.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband; Melville Brehm, one son; Richard Brehm, a great granddaughter; Aeriella Kost, one brother; Lee Vanmeter, and three sisters: Ruth, Clara and Wilda.

She is survived by one daughter; Debra Brehm, four grandchildren: Jon Eric Kost, Rachel Vigar (Kost) and Zackary Kost, three great grandchildren: Aidan Kost, Felicity Kost and Blaze Kost. Also surviving is one brother; James Vanmeter, a son Gregory and his daughter Kimberly.

Friends will be received on Thursday, July 14th, 2022 from 10am until the time of funeral services at 2pm at the SAUL-GABAUER FUNERAL HOME, INC., 273 Route 68, Rochester (adjacent to the Sylvania Hills Memorial Park Mausoleum).
