

Mildred Johnston, born on August 15, 1935, passed away on October 15, 2025, at the age of 90. A resident of Ellwood City, Pennsylvania, Mildred was a beloved and devoted individual who was cherished by all who knew her. She was known for her brave and faithful spirit, her patient and thoughtful demeanor, her generous and kind-hearted nature, and her honest and selfless character.
Mildred was married for 22 years to the late Edwin Leroy Johnston. Together, they built a loving family that includes four children: Birdie Wiley (Rich), Edwina Galbreath (Hugh), Edwin Johnston Jr, Michelle Houk, and Sister Rosella Cook. Her legacy continues through her 14 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her three children; Millie Rae Eaton, Terri Lynn Creese, Herbert Howell, and two grandchildren, Brittney Johnston and Scott Hays, as well as one great-grandchild, Clarissa Edinger.
In her personal time, Mildred had a great love for going to the movies and enjoyed playing bingo and scratch-off tickets. Her evenings were often spent playing Monopoly with her grandchildren. She was a huge fan of Elvis and cowboy shows, but above all, she cherished spending time with her family.
Mildred Johnston's life was a testament to the impact of a loving and selfless heart. Her memory will continue to inspire and remain in the hearts of all her loved ones.
Friends will be received at Saul Gabauer Funeral Home 273 Route 68 Rochester, PA 15074 on Saturday October 18th from 12 Noon to 2pm with a service immediately following.
